Teacher Borrowing Privileges

For Preschool/Daycare Teachers

Not-for-profit preschool and daycare centers that are not home-based and are within the city limits of Elmhurst are entitled to teacher borrowing privileges. The principal or director must sign an Agreement of Service* with the Library each school year.

For K-12 Teachers

Every K-12 teacher in the Elmhurst school system is entitled to teacher borrowing privileges. The superintendent, principal, director, or home educator must sign an Agreement of Service* with the Library each school year.

For more information and to learn about our special collections, check out our Preschool and K-12 Teacher Handbooks and our Services to Elmhurst Schools policy.

*An Agreement of Service authorizes teacher borrowing privileges for new teachers and for teachers with existing privileges. Teacher borrowing privileges allow you to check out Elmhurst Public Library materials for your classroom. The school or daycare accepts responsibility for replacement costs for materials that are not returned. If you have never had teacher borrowing privileges, first contact your organization’s principal, director, or school librarian.
