The Makery

The Makery will reopen later this Summer. Details about our new Makery guidelines and procedures, including equipment reservations, will be shared soon.


The Makery at the Elmhurst Public Library provides a hands-on creative space for patrons to invent, collaborate, and design as they transform their ideas into reality.


  • Sunday: 1-4:30 p.m.
  • Monday: Closed
  • Tuesday: 12-8:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 12-5 p.m.
  • Thursday: 12-8:30 p.m.
  • Friday: 12-8:30 p.m.
  • Saturday: 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

The Makery offers Sensory Friendly Hours every Thursday between 4-6 p.m. The laser cutter, Carvey, and 3D printers are unavailable during these hours. Noise cancelling headphones are available for use in the Makery at all times.


  • EPL cardholders, District 205 teachers and students, Elmhurst College students, Work Perks and Business cardholders are welcome to use the space.
  • Guests accompanying Elmhurst patrons may use the Makery for certain programs, clubs, and activities.
  • Adult supervision is required for anyone below middle school age.
