The Makery

The Makery is open, reservations recommended.

The Library of Extraordinary Things collection includes a list of Makery-related and inspired equipment. Items are available for check out.

The Makery at the Elmhurst Public Library provides a hands-on creative space for patrons to invent, collaborate, and design as they transform their ideas into reality.

Makery Hours

  • Sunday: 1-4:30 p.m.
  • Monday: Closed
  • Tuesday: 12-8:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 12-4:00 p.m.
  • Thursday: 12-8:30 p.m.
  • Friday: 1-8:30 p.m.
  • Saturday: 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

If you have sensory sensitivity, please let us know when booking your reservation and we will do our best to reserve your time when loud equipment is not being used. Noise cancelling headphones are available for use in the Makery at all times.


  • EPL cardholders, District 205 teachers and students, Elmhurst University students, Work Perks and Business cardholders are welcome to use the space.
  • Adult supervision is required for anyone below middle school age.
