Elmhurst Public Library is a fully accessible building outfitted with assistive equipment and technology. We want the Library experience to be pleasant and accessible for all. We are ready to get creative to meet your needs.
Staff is happy to take your checked out materials to the Drive Up window so that you can pick them up in your car instead of carrying them out to the parking lot.
You may also request that Library materials be pulled from the shelves and held at the Drive Up window for you to pick up without leaving your car. Just call (630) 279-8696 at least an hour in advance of coming to the Library.
Find adaptive resources like noise-reducing headphones, assistive software, wheeled hand cart, and more to help you get the most out of your Library visit.
Find websites and information for kids, adults, seniors, and caregivers.
We can bring the Library to you! Our outreach delivery service seeks to make the Library accessible for Elmhurst residents who are temporarily or permanently unable to come to the Library.
All Elmhurst cardholders are invited to take part in Library events, regardless of physical or mental ability. Dedicated programs for groups with differing levels of ability are also offered.
We’re happy to answer your questions about our programs, collections, and resources.
For information about ADA accommodations, call us at least 72 hours in advance. Contact the Inclusive Services Librarian at (630) 279-8696 or outreach@elmlib.org.
