What is virtual reference? Why is the Library offering this service? Some people communicate better when looking someone in the eye. Our new virtual reference services give our Community the opportunity to speak to our dedicated Information Desk staff, face-to-face, using video conferencing technology.
If you can’t find time to meet in person, use one of our convenient online breakout rooms!
To join your meeting, click the link above.* Then follow the prompts until you see one of our staffers’ friendly faces. They will assign you a private virtual room. If you’d prefer to join by phone, call the Information Desk at (630) 279-8696.
What is a virtual meeting room? How does it work? We recognize that not everyone feels comfortable setting up virtual meeting room spaces. Make it easy and let the Library host your group online. Set up a reservation up to one month ahead. Then on the day of your appointment, meet up online, and follow the prompts until you see a staff member’s friendly face. They will assign you a private virtual room.
*Note: Videoconference meeting requires a software download from Zoom that you will be prompted to allow. If you’re having any trouble, contact us by phone at (630) 279-8696.
