Elmhurst Public Library is currently working on adding a makerspace! Our mission: The Makery at the Elmhurst Public Library provides a hands-on creative space for patrons to invent, collaborate, and design as they transform their ideas into reality.
Simply put, a makerspace is a place to design, collaborate, prototype, and create using tools, equipment, and technology. These spaces are focused on hands on learning and promoting creativity. If you supply the idea, we’ll supply the tools for you to create it. Makerspaces have been popping up in libraries across the nation over the past several years and are quickly becoming the local go to spot for entrepreneurs, designers, craft enthusiasts, and inventors. If you are looking for more information about what these spaces can provide, check out this link!
This is an up and coming space. Check back in with this page for updates as the space is built. You can expect plenty of space and tools for projects dealing with sewing, knitting, 3D printing, electronics, painting, coding, laser cutting, card making, vinyl cutting, and much, much more!
No problem. We’re here to help. Shoot us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org
