What is the Makery?

Our mission: The Makery at the Elmhurst Public Library provides a hands-on creative space for patrons to invent, collaborate, and design as they transform their ideas into reality.

What is a makerspace?

Simply put, a makerspace is a place to design, collaborate, prototype, and create using tools, equipment, and technology. These spaces are focused on hands on learning and promoting creativity. If you supply the idea, we’ll supply the tools for you to create it. Makerspaces have been popping up in libraries across the nation over the past several years and are quickly becoming the local go to spot for entrepreneurs, designers, craft enthusiasts, and inventors.
