The Elmhurst Public Library is looking for someone to check in and process magazines and newspapers using a computerized serials control system (III/Sierra), sort and distribute mail throughout the library, and assist with other collection maintenance tasks as needed. Duties may include inventory/withdrawal work, catalog maintenance, or physically processing materials for circulation and shelving.
HOURS: 15 hours per week – 3 hours per day, Monday –Friday, middle of the day. Noon to 3 p.m. preferred but could be 11:30 – 2:30 pm or 1 – 4 pm.
The Elmhurst Public Library is looking for someone to prep materials for library shelving and circulation. Emphasis will be on AV materials but some book processing may also be expected.

The Elmhurst Public library seeks to be the center of the community by providing opportunities for residents to enrich their lives. The Adult Services Department is seeking an individual to work our public service desks helping patrons find information, answer questions, and locate books and other media. Equally important, through a mixture of on-desk help, weekly technology classes, and drop-in sessions, Technology Specialists facilitate a friendly learning environment for patrons of all skill levels to explore technology. Applicants for this position should show a demonstrated interest in technology, expertise with the use of creative software, and the ability to offer fantastic customer service.
HOURS: 12 hours per week, consisting of 3 weekday shifts, every Tuesday 9-1pm, Wednesday 1-5pm, Thursday 5-9p, and Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays on rotation. This is not a seasonal position.
Are you detail-orientated? The Circulation Department is seeking an energetic individual with good organizational skills who enjoys performing a wide range of tasks. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, sorting and re-shelving library materials in the Kids’ Library, emptying book-drops, answering and directing incoming phone calls and greeting patrons at our Welcome Desk.
HOURS: 15 hours per week –This position involves working late afternoons and evenings. A weekend shift is also required.
