Currently we do not have any book dicussions scheduled. In the near future we will annouce titles for our rejuvenated book dicussion program. Anyone is welcome at these informal discussions.

•Past Book Discussion Titles

If you are looking for a great read with a bit of meat on its bones for discussion and thought our list of past book discussion titles is a perfect fit. Local book discussion groups are invited to check out these books for their discussions. The library has approximately 8 –15 copies of each of the titles on this list. If more are needed, we would be happy to request them from other libraries. We hope you find these books as enjoyable as we did.

•Local Book Club Service

Do you wait too long to call the library for your copy of the book you will be discussing? We can help. 

At your next book discussion meeting, give yourselves an identifying name and choose a contact person. Then have that person call or email your names and your library card numbers to the second floor Information Desk.  We will keep your information in a database and request books for all of your members at one time.  Each person will receive an individual call or email when his or her copy is at the library and ready for pickup.

Once we have your group on file, have your contact person call or email (reference@elmhurst.org) the title, the name of your group, and the date of your next discussion. We will be happy to obtain books for all of you. You will usually be able to check them out until after your discussion.   Don’t forget to review the Past Book Discussion titles above for suggestions.  We often have up to ten copies of each title available for immediate checkout.  We can send them to the drive up window for each of you.
